More than one out of four Iraqi children have become orphaned since the American invasion in 2003. Six hundred thousand Iraqi children are living on the streets without a home, and without food.
To help address this humanitarian crisis, the Alalusi Foundation has started the Iraq Orphans Project, which allows individuals to sponsor Iraqi orphans for either six months or one year. For as little as $30 a month, you can help care for a child. Sponsors will be sent a bio of the children they are supporting, as well as pictures and correspondences from the children themselves.
